July 11, 2020 - Real Madrid took a significant step towards their first La Liga title in three years with a 2-0 win over Alaves at home, extending their winning streak to eight games.
The victory came despite the absence of three of their first-choice defenders, with captain Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal suspended and Marcelo injured.
Real Madrid got off to a comfortable start, with Karim Benzema converting a penalty in the 11th minute, marking the third game in a row in which Real had broken the deadlock thanks to a penalty.
The win sealed Real's 80 points, restoring their four-point lead over second-placed Barcelona with three games remaining.
