Ohangla Musician Lady Maureen Passes Away

Maureen Achieng, a renowned Ohangla musician, passed away on Saturday at her cousin's home in Uriri constituency, Migori county.

According to her cousin, Bella Akinyi, Lady Maureen had been undergoing home-based care after being discharged from Pastor Machage hospital in Migori town.

She was 36 years old, born on November 22, 1984, at Seme Kombewa village.

Lady Maureen was a popular musician known for singing about politicians from the Luo Nyanza region.

Her death comes just a month after another Ohangla musician, Bernard Obonyo, popularly known as Abenny Jachiga, died.

Speaking to The Star, Bella Akinyi confirmed the death via a phone call, saying, 'She was undergoing home-based care after being discharged at Pastor Machage hospital in Migori town, she has passed on.'
