Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has made a significant shift in her political allegiance, joining forces with ODM chief Raila Odinga to advocate for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI). This move comes after she ditched Deputy President William Ruto's camp, a decision she made public on 10 June.
Waruguru's decision to join forces with Raila Odinga was announced on 10 July, when she hosted officials in her office to unveil a pilot project. The project aims to promote the BBI, which seeks to bring about constitutional reforms and promote national unity.
According to reports, Raila's spokesperson Dennis Onyango disclosed that Waruguru had given her full commitment to working with the two handshake partners to push for the nation's unity through the proposed constitutional reforms.
Waruguru expressed her satisfaction with her decision to ditch Ruto's camp, stating, 'Now today marks my very first month since I did a handshake with the Mzee, Raila Odinga and getting the blessings of the president, I should be the true messiah of spreading the gospel that works is being done as it is supposed to be done, thank you so much….'
