On July 10, 2020, Cristiano Ronaldo took to Instagram to remember the historic day Portugal won the Euro 2016 title.
He hailed the trophy as his most valuable one, saying, 'Four years ago today we experienced a historic and unique day for all of us. For me it was undoubtedly the most important title of my career.'
Portugal's victory over France in the final was a significant moment in Ronaldo's career, as it marked the country's first major international trophy in years.
Despite being forced off the field with a knee injury, Ronaldo was instrumental in motivating his team throughout the game.
With Portugal lacking their main man through injury, it was highly unlikely they would get past Didier Deschamps' France team, but they eventually won the game courtesy of Eder in the second period of extra time.
The win was also significant as it marked Portugal's first win over the French opposition since 1975.
