On July 10, 2020, the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal announced a significant ruling in the world of long-distance running.
Former World Marathon record holder Wilson Kipsang has been banned for four years, effective from January 10, 2020, due to whereabouts failures and tampering by providing false evidence and witness testimony.
During his illustrious career, Kipsang achieved numerous accolades, including a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics Marathon and victories at the London Marathon in 2012 and 2014, as well as the Berlin Marathon in 2013, where he set a new world marathon record with a time of 2:03:23.
