Kenya Records 473 New COVID-19 Cases, 8 Deaths ¶
As of July 10, 2020, Kenya has recorded 473 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 9448 since the first case was reported in March.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the new cases were reported from a sample of 6979 people within 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 324 are men, 149 are women, and the ages range from 1 to 90 years.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has expressed his condolences to the families of the eight people who have died from COVID-19, including a doctor who passed away in the morning.
The doctor, Doreen Adisa Lugaliki, was a well-respected member of the medical community and was being treated for COVID-19.
Health officials have reported that the eight deaths occurred within 24 hours, with the majority being in Nairobi and Mombasa counties.
Health officials have also reported that 18 students at a private school in Nakuru County have tested positive for COVID-19.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has expressed his concern over the rising number of cases and has urged Kenyans to take precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
