On July 10, 2020, Eric Agolla Lugalia was charged with making a false document in a case involving a Ksh.250M parcel of land in Karen.
According to the allegations, Lugalia and others jointly with intent to defraud former WOW director Stuart Gerald Culling Herd of a 1.9-hectare piece of land valued at approximately Ksh.250million.
Lugalia is accused of making a false document–certificate of title–purporting it to be a genuine certificate of title issued by the Ministry of Lands, a fact he knew to be false.
He was also charged with a second count of forging title deed purporting it to be a genuine certificate issued by the Ministry of Lands.
He faces six other counts of forgery and three other counts of uttering a false document.
Lugalia pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.150,000.
The case will be mentioned on July 30.
Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga had asked the court to direct investigations into the identity of the registered owner of the disputed parcel of land in Karen.
