On July 10, 2020, a heartwarming incident unfolded in Nairobi when Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu spotted a woman with a growth on her face and stopped her motorcade to offer assistance.

The woman, identified as 20-year-old Pendo Masonga, a Tanzanian national, had been struggling on the streets of Nairobi. Governor Ngilu, moved by her plight, alighted from her car and interacted with her.

After learning about Masonga's condition, Governor Ngilu offered to pay for her Maxillofacial operation at the Kitui Referral Hospital, citing the success of similar surgeries performed on residents of Kitui.

"I have offered to pay for her expenses to undergo the Maxillofacial operation which will be done in Kitui after four other successful similar surgeries at the Kitui Referral hospital. The successful surgeries were all residents of Kitui," Ms Ngilu posted on her official Facebook page.

Masonga has since been transferred to the hospital for treatment, thanks to Governor Ngilu's kindness and generosity.
