July 10, 2020, marked a day when popular vlogger 'Janjaruka' had a rare guest, celebrated Kenyan actress Nini Wacera, who shared her 'Con Story' with the world.
Wacera's tale of woe began in 2005 when she met Pastor Robert Burale at a club. The charismatic con artist won her trust, and she eventually bought him a drink, marking the beginning of a deceitful relationship.
According to Wacera, Burale introduced her to his mother and took her to his posh offices in Westlands, further solidifying her trust in him. However, things took a turn when Burale promised to help her purchase a car, claiming he was a car dealer and would transport the vehicle from Mombasa to Nairobi.
Wacera, who had saved up Sh250,000 for her first car, trusted Burale completely. However, he went silent and disappeared, leaving her with no choice but to report the matter to the police.
Despite her efforts, the police were unable to trace Burale, and his mother denied ever meeting Wacera. The Westlands offices also claimed to have no knowledge of his whereabouts.
Years later, Wacera discovered that Burale was an actor who had swindled several people, including five others. She also came across an advertisement claiming that Burale was a pastor helping single women find love.
