Akothee Opens Up About Her Painful Dating Experience ¶

Akothee, the mother of five, has shared her painful dating experience with Papa Ojwang, who would leave her pregnant and alone, only to return home late at night with another woman.
According to Akothee, women envied her for dating a mzungu, but they had no idea what she was going through. She revealed that Papa Ojwang would go partying and leave her to find her own way around, often returning home late at night.
'Women were jealous of me after I snatched Papa Ojwang,' Akothee said. 'They never knew the sleepless and empty nights I had.'
Akothee recalled one instance where she decided to follow Papa Ojwang and see what he was up to. She discovered that he was visiting another woman, and she felt betrayed.
'He will come back,' Akothee said. 'My ngga ended up in Kasorina and came back home at 2.00 am. One day, I decided to follow his car, (he was driving my car, which I gave him) upon arriving in Mtwapa.'
Akothee also revealed that Papa Ojwang would hide condoms under their bed, and she would often find them in the morning. She felt betrayed and hurt by his actions.
'I wanted to beat him up,' Akothee said. 'I remembered I have no strength and I am pregnant. I was also afraid he would leave for good.'
Akothee has since moved on from the experience and is now focusing on her career and family.
