On July 9, 2020, a tragic incident unfolded in Vihiga County, where a woman's life was lost in a botched abortion attempt.
Linda Indava, 29, had been taken to the home of a quack doctor in Cheptulu by her husband, who suspected infidelity.
According to County Police Commander Leonard Omolo, the quack doctor, who moonlights as a 'doctor' at night, had been hired to terminate the pregnancy.
However, during the procedure, Ms. Indava became unconscious and died, prompting the police to be called in.
Mr. Omolo stated that the man, who had expressed doubts about the pregnancy's paternity, would be charged with murder on July 10, 2020.
The quack doctor and the husband are being held at Serem Police Station, awaiting charges for their alleged roles in the tragic incident.
The dead woman's body was taken to Kaimosi mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
