On July 9, 2020, a Kenyan healthcare worker was arraigned in court for allegedly producing fake Covid-19 certificates.

Delvine Enock Moses, a nurse at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), was charged alongside Samwel Shikanda Alukwe, a hotelier, with several counts of uttering a false document.

The charge sheet alleged that the two created a fake Covid-19 test report, purporting it to be a genuine document issued by KNH, on July 5, 2020.

Delvine faced additional charges of forging Covid-19 results for over 20 patients at High Rise Estate in Ngumo, Nairobi County.

Both Delvine and Samwel pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released on Sh150,000 and Sh50,000 cash bail respectively.
