On Thursday, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho departed for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, aboard a private jet to visit ailing ODM leader Raila Odinga. He was accompanied by Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.
According to Governor Joho's tweet, he captioned photos of himself and Junet at the airport and inside the luxurious Airbus A318 private jet as: 'Off to Dubai with Junet Mohamed to see Baba.'
Raila Odinga recently underwent a corrective nerve surgery at the International Hospital in Dubai, a German-run hospital. His wife, Ida Odinga, clarified that Raila was being treated for a mild nerve disorder affecting one leg, contrary to allegations.
Ida Odinga further stated that due to the current lack of commercial flights, Raila's return would require chartering a plane, a process that would be initiated once he fully recovers.
Earlier, Raila had shared a video online, stating that he was doing well after the surgery and looking forward to returning home. He expressed gratitude to his supporters and thanked them for their messages, which he believed helped him recover faster.
