On July 6, 2020, a police chase in Oregon, US, ended with two drivers, driving stolen cars, being apprehended after they crashed into each other.

According to the Newberg-Dundee Police, the incident took place when police responded to a report of a stolen car, a Toyota Land Cruiser, that was being driven in the town.

The suspect, 27-year-old Randy Lee Cooper, attempted to escape the police but ended up crashing into another car, a Buick Regal, which was also stolen and had been missing for about three weeks.

Cooper was immediately taken into custody and charged with the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude police, reckless driving, and other charges.

The driver of the Buick Regal, 25-year-old Kristin Nicole, was also arrested and charged with driving under the influence and the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Both drivers were under the influence at the time of the incident.

It was a remarkable coincidence that two different car thieves would be arrested on the same day, at the same time, due to their recklessness.
