On Thursday, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho left Kenya aboard a private jet to visit ailing ODM leader Raila Odinga in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Accompanied by Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, Joho shared photos of their luxurious Airbus A318 private jet on social media, captioning them, 'Off to Dubai with Junet Mohamed to see Baba.'
According to Raila's family, he recently underwent a corrective nerve surgery at a top German hospital in Dubai, the International Hospital run by Germans, to treat a mild nerve disorder affecting one leg.
Raila's wife, Ida Odinga, clarified that the surgery was not as severe as alleged, stating, 'He has been successfully treated of a mild nerve disorder affecting one leg and not what has been alleged.'
Ida also revealed that Raila's recovery would be a slow process, as commercial flights are currently unavailable, and they would need to charter a plane for his return.
Earlier, Raila had shared a video message, assuring his supporters that he was doing well after the surgery and looking forward to coming back home.
‘I’m feeling great, I feel strong and rejuvenated and it feels good to be out of town breathing fresh air, I want to thank all my friends, supporters and youth, and everyone who has sent me messages, it feels good and makes one recover faster,’ Raila said.
