Published on July 9, 2020, a health worker was charged with creating and distributing fake Covid-19 patient test reports.

Delvine Enock Moses, a nurse at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), was charged alongside Samuel Shikanda Alukwe Omumi, a recipient of a coronavirus-free certificate, at the Milimani Law Courts.

Moses denied forging 15 Covid-19 reports, claiming the beneficiaries had undergone tests at the KNH Infectious Disease Unit (IDU) and were declared Covid-19 free.

Prosecutors alleged that police uncovered the fake certificate racket on July 6, 2020, and arrested Moses and Shikanda from a house in Highrise estate, Nairobi.

Lawyer Danstan Omari represented Moses, while Shikanda was unrepresented.

Senior Resident Magistrate Sinkiyian Tobiko granted Moses a cash bail of Sh150,000 and a personal bond of Sh500,000, while Shikanda was granted a cash bail of Sh50,000.
