On July 9, 2020, a photo of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho inside a private jet sparked a social media frenzy, with many claiming that former K24 news anchor Betty Mutei Kyallo was in Dubai with him.
However, Kyallo took to her Instagram account to set the record straight, posting a series of videos refuting the claims.
She explained that she was not in Dubai, but rather with a friend, heading out for a meal of nyama choma (roast meat).
‘I hear I am in Dubai. Guys I am not in Dubai, I am actually going to have some delicious nyama choma. You know I have a business to run I can’t be gallivanting everywhere. We are going to have lunch guys so chill,’ Kyallo said.
It is worth noting that the photo in question showed Governor Joho seated beside Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, with the two claiming they were headed to Dubai to visit ODM leader Raila Odinga, who had undergone ‘minor’ surgery.
