Published on July 9, 2020, a photo of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed on a luxurious private jet to Dubai to visit ailing ODM leader Raila Odinga sparked a social media frenzy.
Netizens quickly noticed a handbag in one of the photos, which led to the discovery of photos of TV journalist Betty Kyallo with a similar handbag. This sparked wild speculations that Betty might have been part of the entourage.
However, it's worth noting that Betty and Joho had a past relationship, which they had both moved on from. In an interview with True Love Magazine in 2017, Betty revealed that she met Joho after her divorce from TV journalist Dennis Okari and that they connected on a deep level.
According to sources, Joho showered Betty with love and luxury gifts, including a house in Nairobi's Kilimani area and two high-end vehicles. However, the relationship didn't work out as Betty wanted more commitment from Joho, including marriage and becoming the first lady of Mombasa. Joho, on the other hand, was not ready for such a commitment and eventually ended the relationship, taking back all the gifts he had given her.
