On July 9, 2020, ODM leader Raila Odinga travelled to Dubai for medical purposes and underwent a surgery to treat a nerve disorder that had affected one of his legs.
Photos shared by Junet and Joho aboard a private jet sparked speculation that Betty Kyallo had tagged along, with some netizens basing their assumptions on an apparent friendship between Joho and Betty Kyallo.
However, in a response video, Betty Kyallo denied the allegations, stating, "Hey people, I here that I travelled to Dubai. Anyways, I am not in Dubai and I am going to enjoy lunch with my friend. We are going to get some Nyama Choma delicacy,"
She further asked her fans to be calm and stop spreading the rumours as she was in Kenya and had a business to run.
Earlier in the day, Betty Kyallo had been interviewed live by Radio Maisha's Billy Miya on the latter's YouTube show dubbed Billy O'clock, where she spoke on her private life and detailed that she did not regret being a media personality or facing several criticisms.
"I believe in myself and I know myself better. I am not afraid of what people say as that is part of I being on TV. I do not regret being a celebrity," the former KTN anchor stated.
