Peris Masinde, a seasoned professional with a passion for entrepreneurship, has successfully navigated the world of side hustles in Kenya. With a combined capital of Sh. 600,000, she launched two businesses eight years ago, Dreams Wedding Planner and Studio Pretty Faces.
According to Masinde, both businesses germinated from her hobbies. Her love for planning weddings and her friend's interest in cosmetics led to the creation of these ventures. With her background in accounting, she was able to pool her savings and launch the businesses simultaneously.
Despite the challenges of juggling between her career and the two businesses, Masinde has found a balance. She meets with her events clients over the weekend, while her partner in cosmetics handles the business full-time. The two businesses have financially complemented each other, enabling her to venture into agribusiness recently.
Reflecting on her journey, Masinde emphasizes the importance of setting one's mind to making extra income. With 24 hours in a day, she believes that anyone can achieve their goals by allocating time for sleep, work, and personal development.
