Qualcomm Unveils Enhanced Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G Mobile Platform

On February 18, 2020, Qualcomm Technologies unveiled the Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G Mobile Platform, a powerful variant of the Snapdragon 865 that has powered more than 140 devices.

The new Snapdragon 865 Plus is designed to deliver enhanced performance, superior gaming, and fast 5G connectivity, making it an ideal choice for flagship smartphones.

According to Alex Katouzian, senior vice president and general manager, mobile, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., the new chip will deliver enhanced performance for the next wave of flagship smartphones.

The Snapdragon 865 Plus features a Kryo 585 CPU Prime core clock speed at up to 3.1 GHz, Qualcomm Adreno 650 GPU up to 10 per cent faster graphics rendering, and Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 compatibility.

Commercial devices based on the chip will be announced in the third quarter of 2020, with the Asus ROG phone 3 and the Lenovo Legion being some of the first phones to feature on the Snapdragon 865 plus chipset.
