Kang'ata Slams Peter Kenneth's Mt Kenya Power Grab Plot ¶
On June 8, 2020, at Panafric Hotel, a meeting was held between Peter Kenneth and several governors from Mt Kenya, senators, Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi, and Majority Leader Amos Kimunya.
However, Kiranja wa wengi Irung'u Kang'ata has come out to dismiss the plot, saying that no one will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta as the kingpin of Mt Kenya.
"Hakuna mkutano katika mkahawa au ukumbi wowote ambao utapanga njama ya kuchukua nafasi ya kigogo wetu wa Mt Kenya," Kang'ata said.
He further stated that the meeting was a futile attempt to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying that it is a mistake for anyone to think of taking over the leadership of Mt Kenya.
"Mundu ndagayagwo e muoyo! Mtu huwa harithiwi akiwa hai," Kang'ata said, referring to the meeting.
The meeting was attended by several governors, including Kiraitu Murungi of Meru, Ndiritu Muriithi of Laikipia, and Lee Kinyanjui of Nakuru, as well as senators Charles Kibiru of Kirinyaga and Muthomi Njuki of Tharaka Nithi.
According to Kiraitu Murungi, the meeting was held to thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing Amos Kimunya as the Majority Leader.
However, Kang'ata dismissed the claims, saying that the meeting was a futile attempt to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta.
