Former AFC Leopards captain Martin Imbalambala has been a source of inspiration for many after his determination to overcome his challenges despite losing his eyesight partially in 2018.

Recently, his situation was highlighted in the media, revealing that he had stopped medical treatment due to a lack of funds.

However, his fortunes have changed for the better, thanks to the support he has received from well-wishers.

On Tuesday, a team from the Vihiga County Government Sports Department visited him at his home in Kisatiru, Sabatia Sub-county, and promised to assist him.

They presented him with KES 20,000 to help him cover his medical and personal expenses, while plans are underway to establish a long-lasting solution to his situation.

Additionally, the Macleans Sloya Foundation, a non-governmental organization, visited Imbalambala and his family, donating foodstuff and taking him for treatment at the Sabatia Eye Clinic.

Imbalambala was a key player for National Super League (NSL) side Vihiga United before he suffered the eyesight complications.
