On July 9, 2020, Usain Bolt, the world's fastest man, shared the first photos of his newborn daughter, Olympia Lightning Bolt, with the world.
Usain welcomed his baby girl with long-time girlfriend Kasi Bennett in May, but the couple chose to keep the new arrival private until now.
On Tuesday, Usain celebrated Kasi's birthday with an Instagram post dedicated to her, giving the world its first glimpse of their daughter.
Alongside photos of Kasi wearing a flowing cream ballgown as she cradled the baby, Usain wrote a lengthy caption revealing their daughter's name.
“I want to wish my gf @kasi.b a happy birthday and to let u know I am happy I get to spend ur special day with u,” Usain wrote.
“I want nothing but happiness for u and will continue to doing my best keeping a smile on ur face. Now we have started a new chapter together with our daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt I look forward to what the future will bring for us but be reassured that I will be the ROCK for this family,”
The name Olympia is of Greek origin, meaning “from Mount Olympus”, and has an athletic, goddess-like aura, given its relation to the Olympic games.
