On July 9, 2020, a disturbing incident occurred in Kaplelwo village, Kiptere, where two 6-year-old children were hacked and injured by a 35-year-old man.
The man, identified as Robert Chepkwony, allegedly inflicted the injuries on the two boys for stealing maize from his farm without consent.
According to reports, Chepkwony dragged the two boys to his house and cut them with a knife as a way of disciplining them.
Neighbors were alerted by loud wailing and rushed to find the two boys lying on a pool of their own blood.
They were quickly rushed to the Sigowet Hospital where they were admitted.
After committing the heinous act, Chepkwony attempted to flee but was caught by members of the public who frog-marched him to Sondu police station where he is being held while awaiting to be arraigned in court.
Kiptere sub-location assistant chief David Kipkurui confirmed the incident, stating that the man's actions were unacceptable and would be dealt with accordingly.
