On July 8, 2020, Kenya recorded 278 new cases of Covid-19, raising the country's confirmed cases to 8528.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced the new cases during the daily Covid-19 briefing, stating that they were from a sample size of 3053 samples. The country has tested a total of 196,508 samples.
89 more patients were discharged from various health facilities, bringing the number of recoveries to 2,593. Unfortunately, two more patients succumbed to the disease, raising the number of fatalities to 169.
During his tour of Makueni to assess their COVID-19 preparedness, CS Kagwe noted that the county had recorded 44 cases from the 278.
