COVID-19 Faking Scandal Rocks Kenya

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Kenya, a controversy has erupted over claims that popular motivational speaker Robert Burale faked his illness.

According to leaked chats seen by Uhondo News, Burale allegedly caused a tantrum at Nairobi Hospital, claiming he couldn't breathe, despite having oxygen saturation levels above 95%, which is a normal level for someone breathing independently.

Netizens were quick to blast Burale, with some accusing him of seeking to get paid for his claims, while others criticized him for wearing a cap while in the ICU.

Burale had earlier taken to social media to narrate his experience with COVID-19, warning Kenyans to stay safe and thanking those who prayed for him.

However, his claims were met with skepticism, with many questioning his motives.

Check out some of the reactions from Kenyans below:

"Burale on oxygen is a mockery of that room. Have you ever seen someone on oxygen? You wouldn't even think of doing a live. What a shame!"> — Chief Onunga JaKano (@Eddiest_KE) July 8, 2020

"My issues with @burale1 date back 20 years ago in London. When he faked having sickle cell to fleece his then girlfriend. Case of boy who cried wolf."> — MamaBora (@NjeriThorne) July 7, 2020
