On July 8, 2020, a fight broke out in Nyango village, Suna East, Migori County, between three brothers over a tree.

The eldest brother, Moi Odoyo, 40, had a tree cut down on his land by his younger brother, Ouko Odoyo, 30, without his permission.

When Moi confronted Ouko, the latter allegedly responded violently by hitting him with a club, prompting Moi to attack Ouko with a panga.

The fight escalated, with their younger brother, Brian Odoyo, 25, joining in with a panga in support of Moi.

The three siblings were injured in the fight, but Moi has since been treated and discharged, while Brian and Ouko remain in hospital.

The area administrator has confirmed that the matter is under police investigation and that necessary action will be taken.
