As the 2022 general elections draw near, a strategy has emerged to help ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi shed the 'Raila man' label in Western Kenya.

According to a document seen by this writer, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula is set to publicly endorse Mudavadi as the Western kingpin and preferred presidential candidate from the Luhya nation.

The plan, which aims to rally all Luhya nation behind Mudavadi, involves incorporating vocal MPs from the Western region to sustain the anti-Mudavadi-Raila unity.

Mudavadi has been advised to sustain attacks on Raila Odinga's leadership style, with the goal of creating a rift between the two leaders and removing the 'Raila man' label around him.

As part of the strategy, Mudavadi is expected to occasionally issue press releases scorning and undermining Raila Odinga, further widening the rift between the two leaders.

The objective is to remove the 'Raila-man' label around Mudavadi and ring-fence the Western Block.

In the coming weeks, Mudavadi has been urged to continuously pour cold water on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and the proposed referendum, painting the Handshake as anti-wanjiku.

The parties involved will sustain attacks on the BBI and the Handshake, making it look like Raila Odinga's political advancement tool rather than a national interest.
