On June 23, 2020, Police Officer Duncan Ndiema appeared before High Court Judge Luka Kimaru, charged with the murder of 13-year-old Yassin Moyo in Huruma estate.
Ndiema pleaded not guilty and was remanded at Capitol Hill Police Station pending the hearing of his bail application.
However, the investigating officer alleged that Ndiema had lied about being admitted to Mbagathi Hospital for a coronavirus test, and instead claimed he was in Uthiru and Ndumbuini areas, 15 kilometers away.
Despite these allegations, Ndiema was granted a Ksh.1 million cash bail, with the condition that he provide two close relatives as contacts and not interfere with witnesses in the case.
The court's decision was made on July 8, 2020, as revealed by the publication date.
