Thomas Partey, a highly sought-after midfielder from Atletico Madrid, has been linked with a transfer to Arsenal all summer. The Ghanaian international has emerged as a priority signing for Mikel Arteta, and his interest in playing in the Premier League has been made known.

According to reports, Partey has informed his employers at Atletico Madrid that he wants his move to Arsenal to be completed as soon as possible, without causing any rift with the club's hierarchy. This comes as the 27-year-old is trying to avoid a fall out with top officials at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Partey has scored 15 goals in over 180 appearances for Diego Simeone's side, including a Europa League title. His salary would double and his release clause would increase to £90m if he pens a new deal with Atletico Madrid, which is still under contract until 2023.

Arsenal are ready to sell three first-team players, including Alexandre Lacazette, Matteo Guendouzi, and Lucas Torreira, to fund Partey's £45million move. Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu will back the summer signing, and the club is eager to complete the transfer quickly.
