On July 8, 2020, Kenya's coronavirus cases continued to rise, with 278 new infections reported, bringing the total number of cases to 8,528.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced the new cases during a press briefing in Makueni, stating that the infections were discovered from 3,053 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Mr. Kagwe also reported that the number of Covid-19 recoveries had risen to 2,593, with 89 patients discharged from hospitals.
