As the 2020 US presidential election heats up, some voters who opposed major candidates in 2016 are still undecided, citing concerns about both President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden.

Former Charlotte Mayor Richard Vinroot, a Republican who opposed Trump and Hillary Clinton in 2016, expressed his disappointment with the current choice, stating, 'It's an unbelievably bad choice twice now.' Vinroot has also announced that he will not vote for Trump or Biden this year.

The Trump campaign is attempting to portray Biden as too radical, linking him to progressive voices within the Democratic Party amidst national unrest over racism and policing.

Trump's re-election campaign spokesman, Tim Murtaugh, claimed that Biden is 'incapable of standing up to the most extreme elements in his party.' However, polling suggests that Trump is out of step with the country on issues of racial justice, while Biden has rejected far-reaching measures proposed by some in his party, including defunding the police.

Barbara Hill, an 85-year-old Arizona voter, reflected on her 2016 vote, stating, 'I voted for somebody else on the ballot. I wasted my vote, in other words, but I couldn't stand either one of them.' This time, she plans to vote for Biden.
