On Tuesday, 7 July 2020, a disturbing incident unfolded at a local health facility in Kenya. A man, who had been experiencing breathlessness, drove himself to the facility in a red car, only to succumb to his illness shortly after arrival.
According to eyewitnesses, the man's body was then collected by medical officers, who were dressed in protective gear, and placed in a white body bag. The scene was witnessed by a crowd of locals, who had gathered to watch the medics at work, despite the risk of a potential Covid-19 fatality.
Police officers from Juja Sub-county were forced to disperse the crowd as the health practitioners drove away with the body.
