July 7, 2020 - In a bid to shift the focus from the ongoing debate on dynasties and hustlers, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has urged Kenyans to discuss real issues affecting the country.

Mudavadi, a former vice president, said Kenya was at a critical point where the next head of state must be an astute leader with the ability to revive the shrinking economy.

He noted that the country's economy had been severely affected by the novel coronavirus, and the next leader must have the capacity to revive it.

Mudavadi, who is planning to run for the country's top seat in 2022, said he was engaging other partners with a view of rallying them behind his bid.

He refuted claims that he was a perennial political spoiler whose candidature had previously sponsored in order to weaken another potential candidate.

"If everyone says Mudavadi is a spoiler if I run for the presidency, a spoiler for who? there are politicians who have a sense of entitlement. We must allow democracy to survive, let us move away from hero-worshipping. Kenya is not a monarch," he averred.
