On a fateful Sunday evening, July 5, 2020, Sergeant Joel Kieti, the bodyguard of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, was abducted in a shocking incident.
According to reports, Kieti had finished work and was heading home when he stopped at a refreshment joint to meet friends for a few drinks. After finishing their drinks, Kieti walked towards a matatu to continue his journey when four armed gangsters emerged and attacked him.
The attackers, armed with guns, overpowered Kieti, hitting him on the head, tying his hands, and bundling him into a Toyota Prado. The vehicle was later abandoned at a Shell Petrol Station along Mombasa road.
During the attack, the gangsters stole Kieti's pistol, which was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, a phone worth Sh10,000, and Sh4,000 in cash. The incident has been reported to the Embakasi Police Station, with the case being referred to Karen police station for further action.
