On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, Kenya's Ministry of Health announced 183 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the national tally to 8,250.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the new cases were confirmed after 2,061 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Kenya has tested a total of 193,455 samples so far.
Among the new patients, 177 are Kenyans, while 6 are foreign nationals, consisting of 119 males and 64 females aged between 4 and 79 years.
The new cases were distributed as follows: Nairobi (100), Machakos (37), Kiambu (14), Mombasa (13), Kajiado (11), Nakuru (5), and Busia (3).
In Nairobi, Westlands recorded 30 cases, Kibra had 20, Dagoretti North had 17, Lang'ata had 8, Embakasi East had 5, Embakasi South had 5, Starehe had 5, and Makadara had 5.
CS Kagwe also announced that 90 more COVID-19 patients were discharged from various health facilities, bringing the number of recoveries to 2,504.
However, three more patients had succumbed to the respiratory disease, bringing the total number of fatalities to 167.
CS Kagwe appealed to Kenyans to exercise individual responsibility and cooperate in the fight against the disease.
He also noted the rising challenges of metal-related issues such as depression and suicide, which have been escalated by the virus.
CS Kagwe hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta's efforts in mitigating the same through the formation of a task-force.
