A 24-year-old Kenyan man in California, accused of rape by an Uber customer, is seeking financial support to secure his freedom. The case dates back to June 10, 2020, when Kennedy Wambua Masila, a college student and Uber driver, was arrested and held in jail on a $20,000 bail.

According to his family, Musila had just migrated to the US from Kenya and was working two jobs to support his family and pursue his education. He had completed many trips for Uber on the day of the alleged incident, including the one in question, without any issues.

Dr. Fastac Mutua, organizing the fundraiser, stated, 'He has been falsely accused and his promising future put in jeopardy.' The family is raising funds to cover the bail amount of $20,000 and an additional $12,500 in legal fees.
