On July 3, an autopsy report from the Chiromo mortuary shed light on the mysterious death of comedian Kasee, revealing that he was poisoned.
According to Kenya Comedians Society chairman Ken Waudo, the news was made public to quash reports that Kasee's death was linked to alcoholism and depression.
Waudo explained that Kasee, born Joseph Musyoki, received a call from friends on June 28 to join them for drinks at a local joint, but never returned home.
“Kasee was chilling at home with his wife and kids when he was called to go hang out with friends and have some drinks,” Waudo said, quoting Kasee's friends.
However, Kasee later felt unwell, complaining of stomach problems and even called his dad to inform him of the same, Waudo added.
Investigations are ongoing, and Waudo revealed that the examiner found no evidence of depression or liver damage, suggesting that Kasee was likely poisoned.
Kasee is survived by two children and a wife.
