COVID-19: Kenya Records 183 New Cases

On July 7, 2020, Kenya's COVID-19 cases reached 8,250 after 183 individuals tested positive in the preceding 24 hours.

According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the 183 new cases were derived from testing 2,061 samples at Afya House during a press briefing.

Of the 183 new cases, 119 were male and 64 were female. The youngest case was a 4-year-old infant, while the oldest was a 79-year-old.

Additionally, 90 more patients were discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,504.

Unfortunately, 3 more patients succumbed to the disease, bringing the total fatalities from March 2020, to 167.

The distribution of cases was as follows: Nairobi led with 100 cases, followed by Machakos with 37, Kiambu with 14, Mombasa with 13, Kajiado with 11, Nakuru with 5, and Busia with 3.

In Nairobi, Westlands led with 30 cases, followed by Kibra with 20, Dagoretti North with 17, Lang'ata with 8, Embakasi East with 5, Embakasi South with 5, Starehe with 5, and Makadara with 5.
