On social media, a discussion has been ongoing about the supposed increased sexual pleasure that comes from having intercourse while the vagina is 'dry'. However, this is a myth that has been debunked by experts.

According to Dr. Eve Woman Writer, an MA in Marriage & Family Therapy, and a Marriage, Family & Sex Therapist, a wet vagina is a natural biological function that prepares the body for sexual activity. It is not a sign of looseness, but rather a sign that the body is functioning as it should.

On the other hand, a dry vagina is not better for sexual pleasure. In fact, it can be painful and even lead to vaginal tears, which can be a gateway for STIs and other vaginal infections. This can create a cycle of infection and reinfection between partners.

Another myth that has been circulating is that the more sex a woman has, the looser her vagina becomes. However, this is not true. The vagina is a muscle that contracts and expands as needed, and sex with multiple partners will have the same impact on vaginal 'tightness/looseness' as sex with one partner.

So, what can women do to maintain a healthy vagina? Dr. Eve Woman Writer recommends Kegel exercises, which can help to tighten the pelvic floor muscles. However, it's essential to note that these exercises do not tighten the vagina itself, but rather make everything feel different.

Ultimately, the key to a healthy vagina is to allow it to function naturally. This means avoiding practices that can harm the vagina, such as inserting substances to dry it out, and instead focusing on self-care and communication with your partner.

As Dr. Eve Woman Writer so aptly puts it, 'Allow yourself and your partner to enjoy your vagina as it was created; perfectly.'
