It's been months since I recovered from COVID-19, but the virus has left a lasting impact on my body. The cough has come back, without warning and seemingly for no reason; so has the fatigue.

Like many others, I am now coming to realize that I am living and suffering from the long tail of COVID-19. The virus is like a tornado, leaving a trail of damage in its wake.

My symptoms were on the milder side, but the virus has had a lasting impact on my body. I have tested negative for the virus and positive for the antibodies, but my doctor says it won't return. However, there are days when I feel that it has.

One of the most surprising effects of the virus has been my newfound clumsiness. I have become incredibly accident-prone, tripping over the curb and falling over furniture. It's as if that part of my brain, which subconsciously adjusts hand and movement to obstacles it sees, isn't working.

At times, there's a sense of mild confusion, with a micro delay in a thought and hesitation with a word. My digestive system is also peculiar, to say the least.

Despite the reassurances of my doctors, I'm still concerned about the lingering effects of the virus. But for now, I'm taking things one day at a time and trying to stay positive.
