On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta outlined the government's development priorities for the 2020/21 Financial Year in a virtual meeting with senior ranks of the executive.

The President emphasized the importance of implementing and completing ongoing priority projects and programs, as outlined in his administration's transformative agenda for the country.

The agenda includes enhancing manufacturing, food security and nutrition, universal health coverage, and affordable housing.

Uhuru also reiterated his earlier directive that no new projects will be initiated except with his express authority, and that the completion rate of projects and programs will be adopted as a key performance indicator for all cabinet secretaries, chief administrative secretaries, and principal secretaries.

He called upon state departments and state agencies to give preferential procurement to Kenyan-made goods and services in the spirit of the Buy Kenya Build Kenya agenda.

Senior ranks of the executive received a stern warning from Uhuru against corruption and malfeasance, noting that there is no room for the vices in his administration.
