ODM party leader John Mbadi has expressed concerns over Jubilee's composition of two key House committees, which he believes signals a lack of interest in the Building Bridges Initiative.

The Minority leader in the National Assembly said the proposed composition of the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee and the Delegated Legislation Committee could frustrate the BBI process.

According to Mbadi, out of the 19 members in the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee, only three out of Jubilee's 12 members are supportive of the BBI and the handshake.

He expressed fear that these members may use their numbers to gang up against the proposed BBI reforms at the committee level.

However, Majority leader Amos Kimunya dismissed the ODM argument, saying the committees are not being reconstituted to pass the BBI report.

Kimunya said the exercise was not to kick out certain members, but to consult further on the composition of the committees.

Deputy Majority Whip Maoka Maore and Minority Whip Junet Mohamed are planning a meeting to find a middle ground on the composition of the two committees.
