Months-Long Morgue Saga

Ruth Matete's husband, Pastor Belovedjohn Apewajoye, has been lying in the morgue at Kenyatta National Hospital for months, with the family facing a hefty morgue fee bill of at least KSh 600,000 before the body can be released.

According to reports, the Nigerian embassy had initially requested that the body be retained for further investigations, which led to the accumulation of morgue fees.

However, with the DCI now involved, the hospital has been asked to waive the body preservation charges, allowing Ruth Matete to finally give her late husband a proper sendoff.

As the situation continues to unfold, Ruth Matete has made it clear that she will not accept her late husband's body until the mortuary and burial expenses are cleared by the embassy.

Her lawyer, Mr. Robert Odanga, has revealed that Ruth Matete is yet to pick up the body from the morgue, citing that she first needs to know the status of the probe before sending off her husband.

Meanwhile, radio host Jeridah Andayi has called upon Kenyans to extend a helping hand in supporting Ruth Matete to give her late husband a good sendoff, with a paybill number provided for donations.

As the situation continues to affect Ruth Matete's personal and professional life, she has expressed her frustration, stating that everything is at a standstill, and she cannot launch her album, teach at her music school, or preach at her church due to the dark cloud hanging over her name.
