On July 15, 2020, Jambojet, a regional low-cost carrier, resumed flights to five local destinations after President Uhuru Kenyatta eased Covid-19 restrictions, including the ban on movement in and out of Nairobi, Mombasa, and Mandera counties.
The Ministry of Transport had developed protocols to ensure safe commercial air transport following the lifting of the cessation of movement.
According to Jambojet, it will operate 3 daily flights to Mombasa, 2 to Kisumu, 2 to Eldoret, 1 to Malindi, and 4 weekly flights to Diani. The airline will regularly review frequencies to respond to changes in demand.
“We have worked with the Government of Kenya and authorities to create a safe environment for our customers,” said Jambojet acting Managing Director, Karanja Ndegwa. “We will follow safety guidelines to offer a safe and pleasant flying experience.”
As part of its safety measures, Jambojet has implemented thorough sanitization of aircraft with industry-approved disinfectants, HEPA filtration systems, face mask requirements, and temperature checks.
