Car park robberies have resurfaced in Nairobi and Thika, with reports of people losing their valuables in parked vehicles increasing.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, similar robberies occurred at malls and clubs, prompting the deployment of extra parking attendants.

On Wednesday evening, a senior official at Kiambu County Assembly was robbed outside Tedmart Supermarket in Ngoingwa, Kiambu County.

According to a report by Nation.co.ke on July 7, 2020, the official had walked out of the supermarket when she realized her car had been broken into.

A CCTV footage from the supermarket shows a gang of three, two smartly dressed women and their male driver, stealing from her car.
