On Monday, July 6, 2020, a brazen robbery took place in Karen, Nairobi, targeting Kalonzo Musyoka's bodyguard, Sergeant Joel Kieti Kilonzi.

According to Kilonzi, he was walking to board a matatu to town at around 8 pm when he was accosted by an armed four-man gang.

The gang, armed with a pistol and an AK-47, hit Kilonzi on the head and subdued him, tying his hands from behind before bundling him into an SUV.

The robbers made off with Kilonzi's Ceska pistol, loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone valued at Ksh10,000, and Ksh4,000 in cash.

After the robbery, Kilonzi walked to the Embakasi Police Station to report the crime, which has since been referred to the Karen Police Station for further action.
