Published on July 7, 2020, a gang of five suspects broke into a house in Njoro, Nakuru County, and committed a heinous crime. The suspects, armed with crude weapons, assaulted the homeowner, tied him up, and then ransacked the house.
They stole Ksh.34,000 in cash, a D-light solar panel, a gas cooker, a mountain bike, and mobile phones among other electronics. The suspects then forced the couple's children to witness as they raped their mother in turns before slaughtering one hen and eating it.
DCI detectives, following a tip-off from Nyumba Kumi, conducted a raid on Monday at 4 a.m. and arrested four of the suspects: William Kihara Ndegwa (26), David Ng'ang'a Ngure (22), Eliud Njoroge (36), and Geoffrey Mwangi (36).
The first suspect, William Kihara, was reportedly subjected to 'mob injustice' by irate members of the public before the officers rescued him and took him to hospital under guard.
The four suspects are currently in lawful custody pending arraignment, while a manhunt for the fifth suspect continues.
