On July 15, 2020, Jambojet, a regional low-cost carrier, will resume flights to five local destinations after the Government of Kenya lifted the ban on movement in and out of Nairobi, Mombasa, and Mandera counties.
The airline has developed protocols with best practices on conducting commercial air transport, ensuring the highest levels of safety and wellbeing of customers and staff.
According to Jambojet's acting Managing Director, Karanja Ndegwa, the airline has taken measures to create a safe environment for customers, including thorough sanitization of aircraft and the use of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration systems.
Passengers and crew will be required to wear face masks throughout the journey, and temperature checks will be conducted on arrival at the airport. Hand sanitizers will also be provided at all customer touch points.
Jambojet halted operations on April 7, 2020, after President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive on cessation of movement by road, rail or air in and out of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, and Kwale counties to curb the spread of COVID-19.
